how do you do? {Stacy of InkSpot Workshop}

Today, I'd love to introduce you to Stacy, the creative (and hilarious) woman behind InkSpot Workshop. I first met Stacy on twitter, where her perky and fun personality (and an Ohio connection!) really caught my eye. And then I ordered some of her beautiful notecards from her etsy shops, Inkspot Workshop and Fire Hydrant Press--I just love sending them out to friends and family.  New to Stacy's work? You've got to check out her shop and her blog. Enjoy a brief interview with this talented woman below--and then enter for a chance to win your own InkSpot Workshop goodies!

What do you do for a living? If crafting is your full-time job, how long have you been self-employed and what made you take the plunge? If you have another day job, how do you make time for your art?
I only wish crafting was my full time job, but I really do have the best of both worlds. I am a full time medical sales rep for a large device manufacturer and have worked for this company 8 years. I love selling as much as I love creating and the money isn't all that bad either;) Of course my passion comes from creating and I actually got my start playing around with graphic design while making flyers for my customers. I'm sure my legal department was never very keen on my lovely flyers for selling syringes and catheters. I work super early in the morning and until 10:00 at night. My "mommy time" is from wakeup until 9am and 5-8pm. The weekends are all mommy time too.

Night owl or early bird? At what time of the day (or night) are you most creative?
5am!!!

How did you come up with the name of your business?
Here's a post from my blog where I detail this fun factoid.

When you were younger, who did you dream of being?
one of Charlie's Angels or Pinky Tuscadaro - Boy I've really dated myself on that one.

I'm a bit of a foodie. Care to share a favorite recipe?
I too am a foodie, even have a Culinary degree, along with a Fashion Marketing degree, plus a standard old BS in Marketing. My favorite recipe right now is this Williams Sonoma's Cheesy Meatloaf. Honestly, you've never had anything like it and it's perfect for cold weather.

I've noticed that many creative-types love learning new skills. Is there a new craft would you love to learn?
I covet anything and everything letter pressed. I see that in my future! I would love to buy an old press and see what I could come up with.

Name five things in your handbag. And what kind of bag do you carry?
I carry an Orla Kiely bag, gotta love how everything wipes right off. Here are the 5 things in it right now...-spearmint altoids
- Mommy calling cards, my own of course, found right here
- Burts Bees lip balm, can't live without
- Tide to go pen, great for drive thru eating on the run
- Extension tubing for an iv catheter, doesn't everyone?
- Weight Watchers point calculator (I'm a drop out) see Tide To Go pen

Name a guilty pleasure. What do you treat yourself to?
TV! lots of horrible reality TV. My husband and I are also big on catching up on past series like The Shield. We are currently on Season 3 disc 4 thanks to Blockbuster online.

You're at a karaoke bar and thrust on stage with a microphone in hand. What are you singing?
Billy Squier, Stroke Me! yes, I do admit this in public, even lip synched it at my own wedding. I was a member of his fan club when I was in Junior High, now I've really dated myself.

And now, Stacy has offered a gift certificate to her shop worth $50.00 to one lucky winner! To enter, visit Stacy's website, have a look around and let us know your favorite design--or a new one you'd like to see--along with your name and email address in the comments below.  Contest begins Thursday, 3 December and ends 11:59 pm EST on Monday, 7 December. A random winner will be chosen and announced on Tuesday, 8 December.  Good luck!

Thanks so much, Stacy, for taking the time to answer my questions and let us know a little more about you! And thanks for sponsoring this generous giveaway!

have a lovely day, Amy

I'd so love it if you had a range of Adult Personalized Stationery with those lovely flowers you use in your fore and background as decorations. I think those would be so lovely. However, Honey Bee Monogram is my fave. Although, there were loads I fancied. tough tough

Selene  – (December 4, 2009 1:26 PM)

Mod Tree Plum is just lovely! It is my favourite. I'd love to receive this card.

I'd also like to say that perhaps there should be a slightly more professional looking Personalized Stationery set with just initials or the first name, but without pictures. But with different colours available. So that people can be professional yet personalized. Just a thought!
